Ongoing Training Support

Tutor Sessions: One-on-One Training

Make the most of your dog's next daycare or boarding visit with personalized Tutor Sessions! Our trainer works one-on-one with your dog to practice specific behaviors and skills based on your goals.

No previous training is required, and sessions can be added to your dog's regular daycare or boarding routine. After each session, you'll receive a recap of their progress, along with optional homework exercises and helpful resources to continue practicing at home.

30-Minute Refresher Training

Sometimes all your dog needs is a little refresher! Our 30-Minute Refresher sessions are designed for existing PetSuites training clients who want to reinforce previously learned behaviors, such as sitting politely, walking nicely on a leash, or responding to familiar cues.

These convenient sessions can be added to your dog's next stay and focus on strengthening existing skills rather than introducing new ones.

Chaperone Service: Group Play Manners

Help your dog build better social skills with our Chaperone Service. During this focused one-hour session, a professional trainer accompanies your dog during group play, using positive reinforcement, appropriate interruptions, and redirection to encourage better play manners.

It's a great option for dogs who need additional guidance navigating group interactions or practicing appropriate social behaviors with other dogs.

Client-Present Dog Training Programs

Want to be part of your dog's learning experience? Our client-present training programs give you the opportunity to work alongside your dog while receiving hands-on coaching from our trainers. From private lessons focused on individual goals to group classes that build everyday manners, we'll help you develop the skills and confidence to continue training at home.

Each week builds on previous lessons and introduces behaviors related to the 10 CGC test items, helping you and your dog practice good manners together.

Puppy Kindergarten Group Class

Each week focuses on foundational behaviors, developmental milestones, and everyday experiences that help young puppies build confidence and develop positive habits as they grow.

“The staff are AMAZING! They love on my Bubba and Marley like they are their own, and the trainer worked with them both, and I could definitely see a difference. The information she gave us after each session made it so easy to continue the work at home. I would recommend this place to everyone.”

How do I know which PetSuites dog training program is right for my dog?

Every dog has different training needs, which is why PetSuites offers a complimentary training evaluation to help you get started. Our trainers will learn more about your dog's age, temperament, previous training experience, and the behaviors you'd like to work on before recommending an appropriate program.

Whether you're looking for hands-on coaching through Private Lessons or Group Classes, convenient Tutor Sessions during daycare or boarding, or a more immersive Stay and Study program, we'll help you find an option that fits your goals and schedule.

What training methods does PetSuites use?

At PetSuites, we use positive reinforcement and reward-based dog training to encourage desired behaviors and help dogs learn new skills. Our trainers focus on rewarding behaviors we want to reinforce while gently redirecting unwanted behaviors and teaching appropriate alternatives.

We believe training should be a positive, engaging experience for both dogs and their pet parents. Our approach emphasizes consistency, clear communication, and continued practice to help build lasting habits.

Does PetSuites offer dog training during daycare or boarding?

Yes! PetSuites offers several convenient training options that can be incorporated into your dog's existing routine.

Our Tutor Sessions provide personalized, one-on-one training during your dog's daycare or boarding visit, with a focus on specific skills and behaviors. Existing training clients can also add a 30-Minute Refresher to reinforce previously learned skills.

For dogs who need additional guidance during group play, our Chaperone Service provides a focused, one-hour session with a professional trainer to practice appropriate social behaviors.

Contact your local PetSuites to learn which training options are available during daycare and boarding stays.

Will I need to practice training with my dog at home?

Yes! Consistent practice at home is an important part of helping your dog retain and build on the skills they learn at PetSuites.

Our drop-off programs establish and reinforce behaviors, while our client-present programs teach you how to work directly with your dog. Depending on the program, our trainers provide progress recaps, homework exercises, handouts, transfer lessons, or other resources to help you continue practicing.

Dog training is a team effort, and we're here to help you feel confident reinforcing your dog's progress beyond their sessions.

Can PetSuites help with specific behavior problems or training challenges?

Our trainers can help pet parents work toward a variety of training goals, including basic obedience, leash manners, reinforcing familiar cues, impulse control, and improving appropriate social behaviors.

Private Lessons provide individualized coaching for specific training goals, while Tutor Sessions allow our trainers to work directly with your dog on selected skills. Our Chaperone Service also focuses on promoting positive interactions and manners during group play.

Because every dog's needs are different, we recommend starting with a complimentary training evaluation to discuss your goals and determine which services may be the best fit. Please note that PetSuites training programs are designed to support everyday manners, obedience, and social skills. Dogs with severe behavioral concerns, including aggression or complex anxiety-related issues, may require specialized evaluation or support outside the scope of PetSuites training services.

Can I tour PetSuites before booking my dog's stay?

Absolutely! We welcome prospective pet parents to tour their local PetSuites, meet our team, see the accommodations, and ask questions before booking. No appointment is required. For the best tour experience, we recommend avoiding our busiest check-in and pick-up periods, typically 6:30–8 a.m. and 5–7 p.m.

To learn more before your visit, explore our daycare, grooming, training, and puppy preschool, as well as our pet care resources for tips and information about your pet's stay.
